A trained icon maker, Zlata Vrabec uses the traditional methods and materials: earth, wood, gesso, egg tempera, pounded rock and gold leaf.

Zlata draws inspiration from the artistic traditions and spiritual inspiration of the Orthodox Church and the Catholic Church which together constitute her own inheritance, as well as from the spiritual traditions of Asia.

Born in Croatia, Zlata has lived in England for many years. She is a Lay Dominican in the English Province of the Order of Preachers.
